Welcome from The Country Bumpkin
|
Billy 'The Butcher' Blackman, A week late with a low heart rate and an emergency C section later he's here. After he was plucked from Emma he wasn't breathing for himself so he was rushed up to the special care baby unit to be hooked up to more machinery than I've got in the barn, but after an hour he was breathing for himself. It was a proper emotional roller coaster but luckily what rapidly became the worst day of my life soon became the best when I found out that Emma was fine and then my son and heir to the Village was handed to me. His three weeks old now and has so far been helping to clean out 2 hog roasts and has a shooting trip planned for next week. Only problem I see for the future is that he's growing so fast that I think he may get stuck down the rabbit holes by the time the ferreting season comes around! I'll keep you updated. |

Register for 'Wild Food Night' & Farmers Market reminders, what's in season and more!
You can see we are passionate about good food, wild food in particular and spreading the word. Take a look at the menus of our Wild Food Nights or the food we serve at Woolmer Green farmers market, 'pan fried pigeon breast with caramelised balsamic onions', 'Rabbit Satay & Burgers', 'Smoked Pigeon Pate & Toast' along with seasonal soups & stews or our new 'Pigeon sausage Bap'. All meat is wild and sourced locally, cooked while you wait and served with local watercress or rocket, in a roll.
